Digital Design Days 2026
For Digital Design Days 2026, Brutale Studio took part in the event with a talk and an interactive installation.
The talk was an opportunity to introduce the studio, share some of our work and explore the creative and technical processes behind selected projects. going deeper into the ideas, development and technology behind the installation. experiences, connected by a shared interest in visual experimentation, creative technology and new ways of interacting with digital content.
The Talk
The talk was an opportunity to introduce Brutale Studio, share our creative approach and present a selection of projects developed across different fields of visual design.
Moving between motion design, digital experiences and creative technology, we shared some of the ideas and processes that shape our work.
In the final part, we introduced an ongoing experimentation developed in collaboration with Optoscan, exploring how industrial optical barriers could be connected to TouchDesigner and used as an input for real-time visual interactions.
The process
The development of the installation involved both physical production and software experimentation.
We designed and built the physical structure from scratch, taking care of its layout, materials and assembly.
On the software side, a significant part of the process was dedicated to creaating the connection between Optoscan's optical barriers and TouchDesigner, using AI-assisted coding to develop the necessary connection and make sensor data available as real-time inputs.
Once the connection was established, we were able to freely map and use these inputs within TouchDesigner, opening up new possibilities for controlling and generating visual content.
The Installation
To showcase the potential and versatility of this new interaction system, we developed three different visual experiences, each exploring a unique creative direction.
Alongside my own work, we involved Lara Fantone and MechBull Rodeo, inviting them to experiment with this new interaction method and develop their own visual interpretations.
The result was a collection of different visual languages, each approaching the system from a unique perspective. This allowed us to demonstrate the versatility of the interaction system, showing how the same technology could be used to create very different visual experiences.
A special thanks to Filippo for believing in our work and give us the opportunity to showcase it alongside studios and creatives who have been a source of inspiration to us.
A big thanks also to Lara and Arianna for bringing their own visual perspectives into the project and contributing with their work to make this installation memorable.
Grateful to have had the chance to share this experience with you all. ✌️
